Lead Nurturing

A lead who fills a form is interested for about a week. After that, attention decays and the next vendor gets the call. Lead nurturing is the set of sequences and rules that keeps the conversation alive during that window and tells sales exactly when to step in.

Two engines sit behind any nurture programme. Drip sequences run on a fixed clock and suit predictable journeys such as onboarding or a three month consideration cycle. Trigger based flows fire on an action: a pricing page view, a webinar registration, a proposal opened twice in one afternoon. We build both and define which one wins when a contact qualifies for two at the same moment.

Scoring keeps sales out of the wrong conversations. Demographic points come from fit: company size, industry, job title, city, budget band. Behavioural points come from intent: pages viewed, emails clicked, pricing checked, demo requested. Behaviour also decays, so a contact who went quiet for sixty days slides back down instead of sitting at the top of the queue forever.

Content is mapped to stage, not to whatever the team wrote last quarter. Early emails answer the problem question. Middle emails handle comparison, method, and the usual objections. Late emails carry proof, pricing clarity, and one specific call to action. One idea per email, one link that matters, and a plain text version that still reads when images are blocked.

Exit rules matter more than most teams expect. A contact who books a call should leave the nurture immediately, not receive the next scheduled email while sitting in the meeting. We write suppression rules for customers, open deals, unsubscribes, and competitor domains, then agree a response time target for the handoff so hot leads are not parked in a queue.

What's included

Everything in Lead Nurturing

Nurture journey map

A visual map of every entry point, branch, wait step, and exit for each audience, approved before a single email gets built.

Lead scoring model

A points model combining fit and behaviour, with decay rules, threshold definitions, and the exact score that promotes a contact to sales.

Written sequences

Copy and subject lines for each track, typically five to nine emails, with preview text, plain text alternates, and one primary call to action per send.

Branching logic

Conditional rules built in your platform so engaged contacts accelerate and quiet contacts drop to a slower track instead of the same cadence.

Sales handoff automation

Task creation, owner assignment, and a context summary written into the CRM, so the rep opens the record already knowing what the lead read.

Suppression and exit rules

Documented conditions that pull a contact out: booked calls, open deals, existing customers, unsubscribes, and internal or competitor domains.

Re-engagement branch

A short win back track for contacts who never open, ending in a clear choice to stay subscribed or be removed from active sending.

Performance dashboard

Reporting by track on entries, engagement, meetings booked, and conversion to opportunity, refreshed weekly and readable in one screen.

How it works

The process

1

Journey and data audit

We review every form, source, and existing sequence, then trace what actually happens to a lead in the first fourteen days. Gaps and duplicate touches are listed before design starts.

2

Score and segment design

Fit and intent criteria are agreed with sales, turned into a point model, then back tested against contacts who became customers last year to check the threshold is realistic.

3

Build and QA

Sequences, branches, and CRM triggers are built and run against seed contacts. We test every path, including the awkward ones, such as a lead who converts on day one.

4

Launch and tune

The programme goes live for one segment first. We review entry volume, drop points, and reply quality weekly, then adjust timing, thresholds, and copy before rolling it out wider.

FAQ

Questions about Lead Nurturing

How many emails should a nurture sequence have?

It depends on the buying cycle. A ₹2,000 product may need three emails across a week. A six month B2B cycle usually needs seven to twelve spread over two or three tracks. We size the sequence to the decision, then extend it only when data shows contacts finish the track and stay interested.

Will this annoy our leads?

Only if the cadence ignores behaviour. Contacts who never open get moved to a slower track and eventually removed. Every email carries a working unsubscribe and a preference option where the platform supports one. Complaint rate is monitored, and anything above one in a thousand is treated as a problem to fix.

Can nurturing work without a CRM?

It can start in an email platform alone, but the handoff stays manual and reporting stops at clicks. If you have a sales team, even a free CRM tier is worth connecting so scores, tasks, and outcomes sit in one place and you can see which sequence created revenue.

Who writes the emails, you or us?

We write them by default, drawing on interviews with your sales team and the questions that come up on real calls. If you prefer to write in house, we supply the journey map, a brief for each email, and the subject line tests, then handle the build and the logic.
